“If I were given one chance- just one chance- to change anything in my life, I fear I would have wasted it, because if I chose to do one single thing differently, we might never have met each other. I may have never loved you. Everything- the wrong choices, the pain, the hurt, the sorrow, the laughter, even the deaths I had the most unfortunate privilege to witness- has led me to you. And it’s all worth it. Everything is worth the pain. And I would not change one single of those things- however painful they might be- if it meant I would lose you.”
The Song of Solomon is one of the novellas I started writing since 2013. It was originally entitled, My Face in Thine Eyes, but was changed to The Song of Solomon because of the heroine's new found song that made her believe in God again. What that song is, you need to find out! Set on the Scottish Highlands in the 1700's, it is a story of a little girl named Emma Maddraden who lost everything she possessed- from a home to her family thus, making her lose her faith in God, but things made a turn for the better as she found someone who helped her restore her faith and start to love again. In this story, a reader will see the truth about the world- its struggles, its beauty, and how God works mysteriously. Always we think we are not being heard, but in truth, He is working with His love circulating in every ends of our being.
I wrote this novella together with a contemporary story entitled, When Love Becomes an Instinct under the pseudonym, Red Austin, but I fear I am not good in writing contemporary romances the way I believe I am in writing historical romances. As for the status of my novel, I am currently in Chapter Fifteen, working at the scene that I first imagined in 2013 which made the story live as long as it lives now.
